Known as the fastest band in the world, Grammy-nominated extreme power metal band DragonForce is based in London, England. And strangely enough, it's almost finished.
Why not? Just like everybody - you just write a new album when you're sitting at home. We filmed all of it, but we need some more footage. We were gonna film a music video for every single DRAGONFORCE song on the album, and we got halfway through it, and COVID-19 happened. Everything started out great - it was awesome. And we got that streamed to, like, 1.7 million people. Asked how he has been spending his coronavirus downtime, Herman said (see video below): 'We played our first show on the album release date, which was on TwitchCon, which is a Twitch convention. Although Hudson would make his first appearance on 2012's The Power Within, the band's sixth album, 2014's Maximum Overload, would be the last for drummer David Mackintosh, who would be replaced by Gee Anzalone later that year.DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li was a guest on the latest episode of Nuclear Blast's 'Saturday Night Lockdown' with host Francesco Paoli of FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE. The band parted ways with Theart in 2010, bringing new vocalist Marc Hudson on board the following year. The group's sophomore effort, Sonic Firestorm, was released in 2004, followed by Inhuman Rampage in 2006 and Ultra Beatdown in 2008. The success of that record earned the melodic rockers a worldwide audience, resulting in a string of sold-out concerts in Asia and Europe.
DragonForce had already toured with the likes of Halford and Stratovarius before the release of their debut, 2003's Valley of the Damned. U.K.-based power metal sextet DragonForce formed in 1999 around the twin-guitar assault of Herman Li and Sam Totman, keyboard player Vadim Pruzhanov, and the powerful vocals of ZP Theart drummer David Mackintosh and bass player Adrian Lambert joined the lineup later.
